A two-vehicle accident on US 400 in Cherokee County leaves one person injured.

 The crash happenes around 9:45 yesterday (Thursday) morning on US 400 near the city of Cherokee. A 2014 Ford Fiesta driven by 63 year old Cynthia Allen of Pittsburg was eastbound on 400 and slowed as it approached the intersection with K-7. A tractor-trailer driven by 45 year old Cassidy McElwee (Mackle-wee) of Greensburg, Louisiana, was following Allen. The semi failed to slow as it approached the intersection and struck the rear end of the Fiesta. Allen suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. McElwee as well as a passenger in Allen's car were both uninjured. All were wearing seaetbelts.
