A rainy weekend is on the way for the four states.

Up to 1.5 inches of rain is expected this weekend for the area. After a dry day today, rain is expected to start tonight and taper off by Sunday evening. A few strong storms are possible tonight and could bring small hail and gusty winds. The most rain is expected for southcentral Kansas where up to 2 inches are possible. Around the four-state area, at least one-half inch of rain is expected. Heavy rain may lead to localized flooding and ponding of water.
