The USD 445 Wellness Council receives a grant for $20,000.

This grant comes from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Pathways to a Healthy Kansas and is for completing the requirements in the Education Pathway for Modeling School Wellness. The Council worked with Grant Coordinator Marci Roberts to address policies that increase healthy activities in the district.

The Wellness Council implemented seven new policies that will affect all four schools in the district. They will use the funds to increase physical activity, improve water availability for all students, promote and improve staff wellness and offer nutrition education in the kindergarten through second grade classroom.
