Boil Water Order for Dearing and Two Montgomery County Rural Water Districts Rescinded

The boil water advisory for Dearing and Montgomery County Rural Water Districts 1C and 2C-A has been rescinded.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued the order last week after high turbidity was discovered at the Coffeyville water treatment plant.  The City of Coffeyville had also been placed under a boil water advisory, but that was rescinded Monday when test results showed the issue had been resolved.

However, the advisory remained in effect for Dearing and the two rural water districts until those test results came back today.  High turbidity can lead to a loss of chlorine residuals and bacteria contamination.
