Radon Program Coming to Coffeyville

A program is coming up for those interested in learning more about radon.

K-State Research and Extension Agent Julie Smith says radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that's fairly common in Kansas.

Smith says there are some misconceptions about radon, and it can occur in a variety of homes.

Smith says testing for radon is easy, and materials can be acquired from any area extension office. Testing is also increasingly important for anyone looking to buy or sell a home. A speaker from the K-State Radon Program will share more details at the upcoming program in Coffeyville next Tuesday, February 6th at Grace Fellowship Church at 2455 Woodland Avenue. To register for the event, call 620-331-2690.
