An hours long standoff in Altoona leads to the arrest of a suspect.
In the early morning hours of January 21st, 32 year old Phillip James Beisly barricaded himself inside a residence in Altoona after being recognized by a Wilson County deputy as a person who was wanted on several warrants. During a lengthy standoff, tear gas and canine officers were used. Beisly eventually surrendered to Wilson County deputies without incident.
Beisly has been charged with several crimes including possession of a weapon by a felon, obstruction of apprehension as well as several drug possession charges. He also faces charges in Labette abnd Neosho counties.
