ICC Board Asks College President for More Public Access to School Services

Members of the Independence Community College Board of Trustees braved the weather on Monday night to hold their first meeting of the new year.

The meeting became a bit contentious when board members asked ICC President Vincent Bowhay to extend the hours that school personnel are available to students and the public. Board member Cynthia Sherwood says it’s something the school should consider.

Bowhay replied by stating the current hours are similar to those offered by other area schools and that changing those hours could mean a loss of key staff members. He also says, by making the request, the board might be over-reaching.

The board agreed to table the measure until the next scheduled meeting on February 19th
