Sedan City Council Welcomes New Members, Says Good-bye To Retiring Employees

 This week's Sedan City Council meeting was full of welcomes for new council members while saying good-bye to several long time employees.

 That was the sound of the swearing in of Bryan Blankenship as the new mayor of Sedan. Also sworn in was new city council member Angela Evans. Several long time city employees also tendered their resignations at the meeting. City Treasurer Raylene Davis will retire at the end of the month after 14 years with the city as will City Clerk Sherry Miller, who retires after 39 years working for the city of Sedan. The council also accepted the resignation of a Sedan police officer. Council Member Adam Clark says the city will be busy in the next few weeks trying to fill these positions.

The city council also discussed finalizing the new contract for trash pick up with Waste Connections of Bartlesville and what that will mean for customers. The next Sedan City council meeting will be held on January 16th
