Residents of Dewey and Bartlesville who have ever wondered just what it takes to be a police officer will now have a chance to learn.

 Applications are currently being accepted for the Bartlesville Police Department spring 2024 Citizens Police Academy. The 11 week free course is designed to help citizens become familiar with how law enforcement works through both classroom and hands-on instruction. Classes meet every Thursday from 6-9 pm beginning on March 7. Deadline for applications is January 31 at 5 pm. The program is open to adults at least 18 years of age who live or work in the Dewey/Bartlesville area.

Citizens Police Academy application forms are available online or at the Police Department, 615 S. Johnstone Ave. Applications may be emailed to Captain Warren Morrow at wdmorrow@cityofbartlesville.org, or dropped off at the Police Administration window located inside the Police Department, 615 S. Johnstone Ave.
