A Carthage, Missouri man has been arrested after an almost 40 mile police pursuit.

 20-year-old Michael Elliot has been charged with drunk driving, after Jasper County deputies say they attempted to pull Elliot over for traffic violations in south Carthage early Tuesday morning. Officials say speeds of up to 110 miles per hour were reached during the pursuit.

 He’s charged with DWI, driving while revoked, speeding, resisting arrest by fleeing, and creating a substantial risk of injury/death. Elliot is being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
