Parsons Shop With a Cop Celebrates Another Successful Year

A little Christmas cheer was given to the community Sunday afternoon with the Parsons Annual Shop with a Cop Program.

Parsons Police were able to shop with 30 children from the community, in partnership with USD 503 and support monetarily from the local community.

Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks says the program is one of the most important opportunities that his officers get to reach out and interact with children of the community in a truly positive manner. Spinks says it helps the public's perception of law enforcement as well as connecting officers with the future of our community.

The Parsons Police Department also partners with other agencies to help with the shopping event, including the Kansas Highway Patrol, Labette County Sheriff's Office, Altamont Police Department, as well as the Parsons Fire Department.

Donations are taken throughout the year to help families during the holiday season. Contact the Parsons Police Department for more information on how you can help next year.
