As temperatures get lower, especially overnight, it is important to remember outside pets. Coffeyville Friends of Animals Becky Barnhart says she has some tips to help keep those doghouses warmer.

Other tips include making sure the size of the doghouse fits the dog and making sure they have sufficient food and water. Barnhart says the shelter does have a few doghouses for those who need one.

Barnhart says they also have an event coming up, where pets can get their picture taken with Santa. That event is this Monday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Coffeyville Rec. There is no cost but they are looking for pet food or other donations to the shelter.
