A crash in a KDOT work zone in Marion County leaves one woman and juvenile dead.
The accident occurred just after 11am yesterday when a semi truck driven by 21 year old Trevor Stevens of Emporia was stopped and waiting on the flagger in a work zone at US 56 and 250th street. A 2011 Hyundai Elantra driven by 43 year old Jessica Henson of Wamego approached and failed to stop, striking the rear end of the semi. Neither Henson nor her juvenile passenger were wearing seatbelts and both were pronounced dead at the scene. Stevens was uninjured in the accident.
