An Afton, OK, man enters a guilty plea to federal charges.

 24 year old Samson Frye, Jr., entered the guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter charges in federal court yesterday. The charges stem from Frye's role in the 2018 death of his infant son, 3 month old Kingson Frye.

According to court documents, Frye admitted to waking up on November 9, 2018, in the middle of the night to the sound of the infant crying. Frye says he tried to get the child to go back to sleep, but he continued crying. As a part of his plea deal, Frye then admitted to shaking and dropping the child in a way that caused his death.

Delaware County prosecutors originally charged Frye with first degree murder child abuse but had to re-file the charges in federal court due to the McGirt ruling.
