Fredonia City Commission Approves Incentive to Return Surveys

The city of Fredonia will give residents an incentive to complete and return the Lead Service Line Survey from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

At last night's (Wednesday night's) city commission meeting, commissioners discussed ways to encourage residents to return their surveys. City Administrator Wesley Young says it's in the best interests of residents to complete the forms.

Young asked the commission to approve an incentive to encourage Fredonia residents to complete and return their surveys.

The commission approved the $100 drawing incentive by a unanimous vote. Also on the agenda for last night's meeting was the consideration of a new rate agreement with Evergy. The commission took no action on that measure. Commissioners did approve a proposal to create a level payment plan for city utility customers for electricity. Enrollment for that plan will open in February and March while the payment plans will begin in May.
