Canadian Company Announces New Facility in Montgomery County

A Canadian company announces plans to build a new facility in Montgomery County just south of Cherryvale.

The company, Azure 2023, Inc., has announced plans to build a $900 million industrial project southeast of the intersection of US 169-160, near the new Bartlett soy bean plant. According to the Montgomery County Chronicle, the company plans to seek the issuance of $900 million in industrial revenue bonds from Montgomery County. Repayment of those bonds will come from the private corporation, and not from local taxpayers. This project would be the single largest industrial project in the history of Montgomery county and also places it in the top five projects in the state of Kansas.

Officials from the company and from Bartlett plan to reveal more details at a public hearing of the Montgomery County Commission slated for December 18th.
