Sedan City Council Approves Contract for Trash Pick Up

After lengthy deliberation and much discussion, the Sedan City Council approves a new contract for trash service in the city.

Sedan has been in search of new trash service since Chautauqua County announced it would end the service effective at the end of this month. At issue has been which service the city would choose. At yesterday's (Tuesday's) city council meeting, there was still some disagreement about whether the city would pick Waste Connections of Bartlesville or County Wide Refuse of Moline. Council member Adam Clark says he has doubts about Waste Connections.

However, Mayor Jack Warren voiced the thoughts of the other members of the council

Clark was the lone “no” vote when the Council voted 5 to 1 to approve a 5 year contract with Waste Connections.

Other business before the Council included approval of a malt beverage license for One Stop and approval of a new member of the Sedan Library Board.
