(Miami Area Residents Invited to Participate In Angel of Hope Memorial

G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami invites the public to honor loved ones at the Angel of Hope.

The G.A.R. Cemetery management and staff encourage anyone interested in participating in the Angel of Hope memorial to come out to the Angel statue and remember their loved one tomorrow night at 7p.m.

G.A.R. Cemetery will not be hosting a special ceremony this year, but loved ones are encouraged to participate in the nationally recognized memorial event by visiting the Angel of Hope.

G.A.R. Cemetery’s Angel of Hope will be illuminated, and there will be candles leading up to the Angel for those wishing to honor and remember a loved one.

With more than 150 angels across the United States, the Angel of Hope is a memorial with a national community as well as a local one. The first angel was erected in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1994. It was inspired by the book and hit movie The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans. In the story, a woman mourns the loss of her child at the base of an angel monument. Since then, communities have recognized the need for a quiet and healing place where people can remember lost loved ones. The G-A-R cemetery is located at 2801 North Main Street in Miami.
