The identity of human remains found in Allen County over the summer has been determined.

 An anthropologist has determined that the male human remains discovered over the summer are those of an Iola man missing since 2017.

Last March, a man searching for antler sheds near Humboldt called 911 after finding skeletal remains near Arizona Road and 1800the street. The Allen County sheriff's Office contacted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to help with the case.

The remains have been identified as those of 44 year old Dennis Luschbough of Iola, who went missing in August of 2017. Luschbough's family has been notified and, while the cause of death is not yet known, foul play is not suspected.
