Large crowds of several thousand people turned out for Neewollah festivities in downtown Independence.  The highlight of the evening was the annual Doo Dah parade featuring adults in costumes.   

The parade got underway at 6:00pm along Penn, but the crowds stayed to enjoy carnival rides and games, food trucks and live music from the bandstand stage at Penn and Laurel Streets.  

Neewollah continues tomorrow night before winding up Saturday with the Grand Parade and a performance Saturday night at Memorial Hall by the Oak Ridge Boys on their farewell tour.
