ICC SVA Chapter Presents special Item to IGC for Fundraising Auction

The Independence Gun Club is holding a silent auction this Saturday at the Sporting and Heritage Center in downtown Independence and, thanks to the ICC Chapter of Student Veterans of America, they will have one very unique item to auction off.

The SVA Chapter from Independence Community College presented the gun club with a signed and numbered American eagle carving for their fundraising auction. The artwork was commissioned by Dallas businessman and two-time presidential candidate, H. Ross Perot. Mr. Perot had a thousand of the eagles made and used them as symbolic gifts and tokens of acknowledgment to exceptional employees and others who demonstrated the highest level of patriotism and integrity. When Perot’s company sold in 2008 the new owners disposed of the remaining eagles. This eagle is one of the few that remains.

ICC SVA President Quinton Mason presented the carved eagle to the IGC and stated that the club was honored to donate an item that is a symbol of America and the patriotism of its people.
