Two Vehicle Crash in Bourbon County Injures Two, Leaves One Dead

 An accident on US-54 leaves a Missouri man dead.

 The accident happened yesterday evening around 6:45pm at the junction of US-54 and K-3, about 15 miles west of Fort Scott. A 2019 Toyota Rav 4 driven by 75 year old Rebecca Shinn of Uniontown was traveling eastbound on US-54. Shinn attempted to make a left turn onto K-3 and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Shinn's vehicle was struck by a 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by 35 year old Heath Baker of Nevada, MO. Shinn, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Via Christi in Pittsburg with minor injuries. Baker was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with serious injuries. Baker had two passengers in his vehicle. The first – 44 year old Nathaniel Morehead of Milan, MO – was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The condition of the second passenger who is a juvenile remains unknown. No one in Baker's vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
