KBI Investigating Kansas Court Computer Problems

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation confirms an investigation into the Kansas courts security breach.

The KBI said yesterday that it is investigating the incident along with its federal partners. The security breach has temporarily moved the state back to on-paper and in-person operations. Kansas courts have remained open but have been forced to reply entirely on paper filings.

Anyone doing business with the courts must do so in person. Those looking to pay the courts must do so by mail and those looking for a marriage license must do so in-peron since the courts cannot current accept electronic payments. Those waiting for bond refunds or restitution will have to wait until systems are back online to receive their payments as will those awaiting child support payments from court orders.

Operations have not yet returned to normal.
