KGGF has been awarded best severe weather coverage for a medium-market station by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.

This is the station's fourth award for severe weather in the last five years. Management and staff from KGGF including Kaleb Potter, John Leonard, James Copeland, Chris Freund and Matt Jordan (pictured left to right) traveled to Overland Park yesterday to accept the award, along with a second-place award for news feature and four third-place awards for morning show, excellence in multimedia, news feature and overall station excellence. Other cities in the medium-market category include stations in Lawrence, Manhattan and Joplin.
