Neewollah 2023 is off to a good start.
The yearly festival in Independence got underway over the weekend with performances of the musical Beauty and the Beast at Memorial Hall. Athletic enthusiasts joined the fun on Saturday at Riverside Park, taking part in the 5K, 10K, and Fun Runs. Riverside Park was also bathed in the sweet aroma of BBQ on Saturday with the 1st BBQ Cook off. Hundreds of people came out to sample the food.
Tonight contestants for Queen Neelah step into the spotlight with the Queen Neelah Talent Contest at 7pm at Memorial Hall
