The pilot of a small plane is injured after making an emergency landing near Iola on Saturday.

 27 year old James Devers of Oklahoma City was injured Saturday after making an emergency landing. Devers was attempting to land at the Iola Airport when he ran out of fuel around 7:30pm o n Saturday evening. He landed the plane on 2000 Road about 3 miles southeast of Iola. In the process of landing, the end of the plane's right wing clipped a tree, causing Devers' plane to travel into the ditch on the west side of the road and strike a tree. Devers was taken to Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola where he was treated for minor injuries.
