School has now been back in session for several weeks and that means it's important that drivers proceed with caution around schools and school buses.

 The Parsons Police Department reminds drivers to observe and abide by speed limits in school zones and be mindful of the lights on school buses. Flashing yellow lights on a school bus indicates the bus is getting ready to stop to load or unload children. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop their vehicles.

Flashing Red lights on a bus mean stop. Racing past the arm puts young lives in jeopardy. Motorists may begin moving only when the red lights are turned off, the stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins to move.
