A two vehicle accident near Erie leaves one woman injured.

 The accident occurred around 3:30 yesterday afternoon two miles north of Erie on US-59. A 2002 Dodge Dakota driven by 19 year old Amber Kirkpatrick of Walnut, KS, was westbound on K-146 when she approached a stop sign at the junction with US-59. Kirkpatrick attempted to turn south onto US-59 and was struck by a 2008 Sterling Truck driven by 49 year old Brian Fortman of Newalla, MO. Kirkpatrick was taken to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute with minor injuries. Fortman was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
