Teen Driver Safety Week

This week is National Teen Driver Safety Week and the Kansas Department of Transportation wants to help parents and guardians stress the importance of safety to their young drivers.

Some of the biggest dangers for teen drivers include drug or alcohol use, lack of seat belt use, distracted driving, speeding, and driving with passengers in the vehicle.

KDOT encourages parents to talk with their kids about their expectations for safe driving. Familiarize yourself with the rules and restrictions of the Kansas graduated driver license. Set a good example by demonstrating your own safe driving habits. And remind your teens that safe road behavior is everyone's responsibility.
