Parsons Library Book Discussion Series Continues

 The second part of a three part book discussion series continues at the Parsons Public Library.

 The discussion series entitled “The Kansas Experience” explores the experiences of individuals who pushed back against poverty, racism, violence, and hatred to find success and then advocated for others in similar situations. The series continues next Monday at 6pm with a discussion of the book Heartland by Sarah Smarsh. Heartland is a memoir of growing up in a family of wheat farmers on one side and teen mothers on the other. Smarsh is a 5th generation Kansan and Heartland was a finalist for the National Book Award. The discussion is sponsoered by Humanities Kansas as a part of its Talk about Literature in Kansas program
