Water restrictions could get more strict in Caney.

According to City Administrator Kelly Zellner, the city's remaining water from Timber Hill Lake will be released for the final few times. This water should last the city until the end of the year with the current consumption and drought conditions. Zellner says enforcement regulations will be considered at the next council meeting. City officials also intend to work with the two biggest water consumers in the area on alternative conservation practices and options, as well as the other businesses in town. Zellner says once penalties are in place, the city has a chance of making it to the spring rains of 2024.
