The cause of death is revealed in the case of the passing of Parsons Police Department K9 Karim.

According to the final necropsy report, extreme temperatures on the day in question is the lone contributing factor to the passing of Karim. The Labette County Sheriff's Office is initiating legal proceedings against PPD Officer Devin Wisdom. The case has been formally submitted to the Labette County Attorney's Office with requested charges of cruelty to animals. The decision to proceed with formal charges now lies with the Attorney's Office.

The Parsons Police Department is in the process of organizing a memorial service for Karim, with details to be announced in the near future. Chief Robert Spinks says their current focus is on concluding the investigation while simultaneously making arrangements for Karim's interment and memorial service to pay tribute to his role as a member of their department.
