The Parsons Police Department says there is a new scam circulating in Labette County.

 The scam is a letter sent from what appears to be a law office claiming to have an unclaimed life insurance policy to collect. The name is Edward Woodland from Woodland, Brent & Partners LLP. The letter looks formal and may get some people confused, but please beware. This is not a legitimate claim. The public should discard this document and do not respond.

The Parsons Police Department wants to keep its citizens informed and let them know that if they have questions about a letter or a request to please contact your law enforcement agency. The Parsons Police Department has information about scams in the lobby of the police department as well as the lobby of the municipal building and the Parsons Senior Center. They remind residents to be cautious and to never give out personal information.
