Continuing drought conditions force area communities to continue water saving efforts.

 Cities across the four state area continue to struggle with drought conditions and the lack of rainfall. Sedan remains in a Stage 3 Water Emergency and in Montgomery County, Coffeyville and Independence remain under a water warning. Elk City Lake is 5.37 feet below normal. While evaporation decreases as fall temperatures cool, there remains little chance of rain in the near-term weather forecast. Residents are encouraged to continue their efforts at water conservation as the drought conditions continue.
