An active shooter drill is coming to an area hospital this week.

According to a press release, Wilson Medical Center will be holding an active shooter drill on Friday from 8:00 until 10:30 a.m. to train their staff on the proper procedures and protocols in responding to an active shooter situation on the hospital campus.

The Neodesha Police Department, Fire Department and EMS will also be assisting in the event. There will be hospital employees stationed at outside entrances to inform patients and visitors of the drill as they arrive. Upon entering, visitors can expect to hear loud noises and announcements through the overhead paging system. Patients and visitors can expect to see simulations of injured employees and a simulated shooter.
