Jefferson School Receives Needed Help

USD 446 announces that Jefferson School will soon be receiving much needed help for their after school program.

The district announced the hiring of eight new employees at Jefferson, with six of them serving in the Kids Crew program. The additional staff allows the district to continue with out-of-school activities, such as the run club and Fab Lab.

Additional items of business at this month's school board meeting was the approval of a trip for IHS students within the Jobs for Americans-Kansas program, as well as a report from Tri County Special Education Representative Tamisha Sewell. Additionally, IHS parent-teacher conferences will continue tomorrow from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

USD 446 school board meetings take place on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Independence High School. All meetings are open to the public.
