South Coffeyville Woman Dies in Accident Involving Deer

 

A South Coffeyville woman dies after a two-vehicle accident involving a deer in Nowata County.

 

The fatality collision happened at around 7:30 last night. A 2016 Jeep Renegade, driven by 48-year-old Natalie Kelley, of Owasso, struck a deer on Highway 169, five miles north of Lenapah. The deer was thrown through the windshield of a 2019 Chevy Blazer, driven by 72-year-old Carolyn Howard, of South Coffeyville.

 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the deer went through the vehicle and exited out the rear window. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene by Nowata EMS from injuries sustained during the crash. The Nowata County Sheriff’s Office and Lenapah Fire Department assisted on the call.
