A Sunday evening motorcycle accident leaves two men seriously injured.

 Two Ft. Scott men driving motorcycles sustained serious injuries around 5:30 pm on Sunday evening in an accident on K-7, 5 miles southeast of Mapleton. 34 year old Donovan Zornes and 46 year old Richard Springston were each riding a motorcycle southbound on K-7 at a high rate of speed when they failed to negotiate a curve. Zornes' 2001 Suzuki left the roadway and struck a guardrail. Springston, who was riding a 2007 Kawasaki left the roadway as well and struck Zornes' vehicle. Zornes, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported to Research Medical in Kansas City. Springston, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
