Governor Kelly Announces Funding for Highway Projects in Southeast Kansas

 Five area cities will receive state funding for Improvements to state highways and intersections.

 Governor Laura Kelly made the announcement of $22 million as a part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s City Connecting Link Improvement Program or CCLIP. Both federal and state funds are designated for the CCLIP program and local matching funds are required based on city population. Both Ft. Scott and Pittsburg will receive $1.5 million for geometric improvement while Girard and Yates Center have been allocated $1.5 million for pavement restoration and Sedan will receive $1.25 million in funding. Kelly says Kansas is finding ways to bring resources directly to communities across the state due to a solid financial footing at the state and federal level.
