As the Labor Day holiday weekend winds down the Kansas Highway patrol reminds drivers to keep safety precautions in mind.

 K-H-P reports several injury accidents on Kansas highways this weekend in areas around Wichita, in north east Kansas, and in western Kansas along I-70, but no fatalities.

Excessive speed, inattention, and impaired driving are leading causes of traffic crashes, so K-H-P- reminds Kansans to always wear seatbelts, ensure your vehicle is properly maintained, check road conditions before traveling, and give yourself plenty of time for arrival. If you are drinking, don't drive, and have a designated driver. K-H-P wants all Kansans to have a fun and safe holiday weekend.
