Wilson County employees are seeing a pay increase in the 2024 fiscal year.

 

The county commissioners approved a proposed increase for employees in the Sheriff's Department, County Corrections, Administration, 911 Dispatch, and Department Heads.

 

Reasoning for the pay increase is a combination of increase in the county budget for the 2024 fiscal year, as well as emphasizing rewarding county employees with years of service.

 

Additionally at this week's County Commission meeting, Patty Ann Sanborn spoke regarding an upcoming conference in Independence that will cover housing needs. The conference is being put together by the SEK Incorporated Housing Coalition and will be on November 14th and 15th.

 

Cost to attend is $60 and Lieutenant Governor David Toland will be a guest speaker.
