The drug Fentanyl continues to become a more common drug in the area. Community Health Center Vice President of Behavioral Health and Addiction Services Eric Thomason says Fentanyl is a synthetic drug made in a lab.

Thomason says a number of the counties in the area are considered high intensity drug trafficking areas according to the Office of National Drug Control.  Fentanyl has been found in marijuana and methamphetamine, but Thomason says in most cases the people who are consuming the drug don't realize it.
