The Daughters of the American Revolution are encouraging citizens to learn more about the Constitution.
Michelle Corn of the D-A-R asked the Independence City Commission to declare the week of September 17th through the 23rd “Constitution Week.” The Independence commissioners say its a great idea and approved the measure by a unanimous vote. Other business before the commission included approval of a building grant for a new coffee shop on east Main. They also heard from a citizen who was requesting information from the city.
