It's that time of year … time for high school football.

 Several area teams are gearing up for the new season in Independence tonight. Field Kindley, Independence, and Caney Valley high schools will take part in a joint scrimmage. Independence Mayor Louis Ysusi says it's a great chance to come out and support your team while helping a good cause.

The Football Jamboree begins tonight with Independence and Field Kindley followed by Field Kindley and Caney, then Independence and Caney. Kick off is 7:30pm at Shulthis Stadium in Independence.
