The excessive heat continues today across the tri-state region with some relief expected this weekend.

 Excessive heat warnings remain in effect until 10pm tonight for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. Northeast Oklahoma is under an excessive heat warning today from 11am until 8pm. Highs today are expected around 103 with a heat index around 110. Tomorrow, however, expect area highs in the mid 90s with a good chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs on Sunday are expected to be in the low to mid 80s.
