Improvements are coming to Polk Park in Fredonia thanks to a donation from Blue Cross and Blue Shield. City Administrator Wes Young says the $50,000 donation is part of the Pathways to a Healthy Kansas initiative.
Young says the Stay Strong Live Long Wilson County Coalition sent surveys to the nearby residents of Polk Park. Young says the city will add just over $5,000 from their parks budget to help with improvement to the park, including new playground equipment.
