Excessive Heat Continues Through Friday

The heat continues but their is relief on the horizon.

The high temperatures will stay with us into the weekend as excessive heat warnings remain in effect until 10pm Friday for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. Northeastern Oklahoma is under an excessive heat warning from 11am until 8pm today and tomorrow. The heat is expected to break over the weekend with Sunday highs expected in the mid 80s and the possibility of rain and thunderstorms next week. While the heat holds, remember to take precautions to stay safe from the heat. Reschedule outdoor activities to early morning or evening if possible, drink plenty of water, stay in the shade when possible, and know the signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, nausea, and heavy sweating. Heat Exhaustion can lead to heat stroke which can be deadly.
