More Record High Temperatures

 As the heat wave continues to roast the Midwest, more record record high temperatures are tied or broken.

 Across Kansas yesterday, both Russell and Wichita tied their all time highs, while Salina broke their record high for August 22nd previously set in 1918. Yesterday's high in Salina was 108. In southeast Kansas, Chanute, unofficially, saw its third highest heat index ever at 126. Chanute's highest heat index was set in 1981 at 133. The heat is expected to continue through Friday.
