Today's forecast high in Coffeyville is 101 with a possible heat index of 113. Excessive heat warnings are in effect today for northeast Oklahoma from 11am until 8pm. For south east Kansas and south west Missouri, the excessive heat warning is in effect until 10pm on Thursday night. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Drink plenty of water even if you are not thirsty. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, which includes dizziness, nausea, confusion, hot dry skin, and loss of consciousness.
