The Joplin Police Department's search for a shooter continues today after a weekend shooting in downtown Joplin.

 Just after 1:00 yesterday morning, Joplin patrol officers heard and reported to a gunshot in the area of 5th and Joplin. They found a man with a wound to the chest after a shooting outside the XO Nightclub.

 Officers stabilized the man until fire and EMS arrived, then began the search for the suspect. The victim was transported to a local hospital, underwent surgery, and is listed in stable condition.

 The search continues for the suspect. No names have been released. Anyone with any information about the incident or the shooter is asked to call local law enforcement.
